National Dairy Council
America’s dairy farmers created National Dairy Council® (NDC) nearly 100 years ago because of to their commitment to nutrition education and research-based communications.
Since 1915, NDC has been dedicated to sharing science-based expertise on the nutrition and health benefits of dairy foods and collaborating with health and wellness professionals to help improve health and wellness across the country. This includes addressing hunger and helping ensure every American has access to nutrient-rich foods.
NDC educates health professionals, the media, public health and other thought leaders about the need for Americans, especially children, to consume three servings of low-fat and fat-free dairy products each day as recommended by the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
NDC also has taken the lead on children’s health and wellness through school-based programs such as Fuel Up to Play 60. FUTP 60 is active in more than 73,000 U.S. schools and encourages children to consume nutrient-rich foods, including dairy, and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
